Come with me on a funny adventure with the playful Barbary Macaques from Gibraltar

Where monkeys dare

Barbary Macaques Experiences

Those who associate freedom with eagles can learn a lot from monkeys too. They don't read signs. Bureaucracy doesn't interest them either they rather jump around. They go their own way. Act Non Verba is theire Motto. If they sense an opportunity, they seize it, even if it sometimes means having them in your face 😉

barbary Macaques Stories

Little Rock

Cute but cheeky

This little fellow here only looks and acts innocent at first glance. When he's in a good mood, he'll jump right into your face, climb over your backpack, and look for food. The really small ones on car roofs are especially mischievous. As soon as you walk close, they take every opportunity 😉

Amigo Mio

Los guardias

Two monkey guards. Both were bossing around. As you can see in the video, as soon as one distracts you, the other one comes from behind. Me signaling with gestures, don't jump, it is a bad idea, with a solid body language... he looks at me like... yeah I know... he tried it anyways. Not like the little ones. The bigger ones, once they start, they are in it to win it. I looked at both like, i told ya... They walked away quite unbothered and learned, not with me 😉

The Family

Mommy shows Daddy who's the Boss

There is a lot of offspring. The very little ones are jumping around happily. One tourist lost his food, the male one was snacking it and wasn't giving his little rock but one bite... so as you can see at the video, the mother showed with strong impressions what his priorities are. She walked away with all the food and the little one snacked it happely after.

Fun Fact

My first encounter

On the first day, as I was walking up the hill, a tourist asked me where he could find the Barbary Macaques. I told him where to go…

Shortly after, he shouted loudly from behind some rocks and trees: “KURWA!”

I've never laughed so hard as I did that day 😉

The Barbary Macaques 'King of Gibraltar' 😉

Los otros monos mantienen una distancia respetuosa con él 😅

King of Gibraltar

From Gibraltar with love

Cute little ones

PS: Don't touch them or Big Mama shows up 😉

Banana Checkpoint

Banana or Papers?

Hauptsache der Wisch liegt auf dem Tisch 😉

The Medal of Gibraltar

*Requierment: Survive love at first bite 😉

PS: Even with a closed bag... you can't blame them. They have good taste. They couldn't resist the smell of Fish & Chips.
